About the accommodation
Our lovingly renovated farmhouse, which was built in 1880, is located in the west of the island Pellworm, in the middle of the national park Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea, which has UNESCO World Heritage status. The island measures 37 square metres and is surrounded by an eight-metre-high and 25 kilometre-long sea dike. It is a true paradise for the animal and bird world. But also in addition to the wonderful nature, Pellworm offers some special features: In the Old Church, for example, one of the last Arp-Schnitger organs in Northern Germany is played for the Sunday service. The solitary location, the wonderful view and the absolute tranquillity of the Veldawarft, where our farm is located, invite you to stop for a break, to experience nature with all your senses, to recharge your batteries and to relax.
Your leisure time is also well taken care of: explore the island by bicycle or enjoy long dike walks and the spicy sea air of the North Sea.
On the east facing terraces of our apartments you can enjoy the morning sun and the beautiful sunsets you can best experience at the panoramic windows in the west. In addition, wood-burning stoves provide cosy hours and the heated floors in the hallway and bathroom provide an additional sense of well-being. The apartments have double beds made of Swiss stone pine wood with natural latex mattresses and pillows with cotton wool blankets from certified organic cultivation. The kitchens are equipped with a dishwasher. The solitary location of the courtyard on a mound ensures absolute tranquillity. The wonderful view over the whole island inspires even long-established fur wormers. Thanks to oiled natural wood floors, ecological colours and plasters, wardrobes made of oiled solid wood and untreated Swiss stone pine beds, the non-smoking holiday apartments are also ideal for allergy sufferers. For this reason no pets are allowed.
Surroundings and activites
Our two apartments Seeluft and Salzwind are located in the west of the island Pellworm. The outer dike with bathing area is about two kilometres away. There is also the famous Old Church with its tower ruin, the island's landmark. The Pellworm harbour with its shopping facilities, bakery, banks, doctor and pharmacy, the tourist information centre as well as the spa and health centre with swimming pool and sauna are six kilometres away. You will also find various shops, cafés and restaurants all over the island, which are listed in Pellworm's Monthly Bulletin, which is available in our holiday apartments, with location and opening hours as well as information on events. The Pellworm lighthouse, another of the island's attractions, is about five kilometres away. The island also invites you to take long walks along the dike or explore the island by bike.
Location and getting around
Drivers can reach the North Sea island of Pellworm either via the Schleswig-Schuby exit of the A7 motorway and then via the B201 federal highway to Husum or via the A23 to Heide and from there via the B5 towards Husum. From Husum follow the signs to the port Nordstrand/Strucklahnungshörn, from where the ferry to Pellworm leaves. From the ferry port it is about another eight kilometres to our farm.
If you want to travel by train, go to Husum and take the bus to the ferry pier Strucklahnungshörn. There is a round bus service on the island itself.
