About the accommodation
Welcome to the organic certified Ökopension Villa Weissig directly at the National Park Saxon Switzerland and the Malerweg.
Villa Weissig has a unique atmosphere: a loving furnishing with natural wood furniture and plenty of light gives the house, the guest rooms and holiday apartments this special charisma. Through the use of natural materials and the applied building biology an optimal and healthy indoor climate was created. Our house has been renovated in a biological way and corresponds to the standard of a low-energy house. Environmental awareness and climate-neutral action is a matter of course for us and the way into the right direction. That is why we have had a CO2 footprint drawn up. The calculated value per overnight stay is in climate efficiency class A.
The apartments and guest rooms are furnished with solid wood furniture, the cork floors in the living rooms and bedrooms are oiled and windows and doors made of solid wood. To avoid electrosmog, we have installed shielded electrical cables and use mains cut-off switches in all bedrooms. We use biological cleaning agents throughout the house. For the walls and ceilings we have used only vapour permeable, breathing building materials and paints. All walls are brushed with clay and then painted with clay paint. A heat pump with an earth collector is responsible for heat and hot water. The wall heating system, which is installed mainly in the outer walls, provides pleasant radiant heat. The apartments in the attic as well as the tiled bathrooms and kitchens have underfloor heating for your well-being. The façade insulation consists of cork and the roof is insulated with wood fibre so that it was classified as a low-energy house.
Surroundings and activites
Experience the beauty of Saxon and Bohemian Switzerland! Many routes can be started directly from our house. Each guest room has sufficient maps and literature. Let yourself be enchanted by picturesque rock formations, gorges and valleys or hike along the painter's path in the footsteps of great artists.
Take a day trip to the nearby baroque city of Dresden with sightseeing attractions such as the Frauenkirche, the Zwinger, the Semper Opera House or Pillnitz Castle, the wine and porcelain city of Meissen as well as Prague with its beautiful old town. We would particularly like to recommend the Canaletto city of Pirna, whose old town has blossomed again after the flood of 2002. Treat yourself to a break and increase your well-being in the Tuscany thermal baths in Bad Schandau or in the Geibelt-Freizeitbad in Pirna.
To make your holiday a very special experience, we will be happy to help you choose and plan your leisure activities.
