About this listing
The Stöckenmühle was built in 1748 and is a former grain mill.
Since 1990 it has been managed by us as a certified organic farm, because our motivation is living in harmony with nature. We generate our electricity by means of a photovoltaic system, heat our water by means of solar thermal energy and purify waste water by means of a plant-based sewage treatment plant. The accommodation is heated by cozy wood-burning stoves.
We are a small mixed farm with 15 hectares of land and a closed ecological cycle. We cultivate vegetables in permaculture, preserve nature with our small herd of goats and keep horses in the open stable. Our goats are grazed from spring to the beginning of winter and are not directly at the farm. The dreamlike landscape around the Stöckenmühle invites you to hikes and a bathing holiday.
As a guest at the Stöckenmühle, you can enjoy a wide range of leisure activities: for example, you can register for nature meditation at Irene. Also on request we offer you natural therapy, guided talks and various workshops depending on the current programme. If you are interested, you can also talk to us about ecological agriculture, permaculture, landscape conservation, ecology and other topics.
You are also welcome to experience the daily work on an organic farm at close quarters: For example, when driving our goats from one pasture to the next, supporting nature conservation measures or on the hilltops.
Our large, open round house also offers a variety of leisure activities: A fireplace invites you to a barbecue together and on the weekends exciting sculpture workshops take place again and again. Children can play for free on the whole farm.
Our farm is located on the shores of Lake Constance, about seven kilometres from Allensbach. The beautiful Mindelsee nature reserve is very close by. There are bus connections in the nearest villages, which are about two to four kilometres away. To Constance, it is about 17 kilometres from the Stöckenmühle.
