About the accommodation
The Hausberghof is an active organic farm with old domestic animal breeds, pigs kept in the open air, Aubrac cattle and Sulmtaler hens. Here you can get organic meat from your own animals, organic vegetables and salad from the farm garden as well as organic fruit from your own trees and bushes. The farm is situated in the middle of nature, surrounded by fields in a hilly, dreamlike landscape. If you would like to be a farmer yourself, for example when mowing grass or feeding animals or just wanting to be in touch with nature, then we are the right partner for you. Personal care by the farmer, a rich breakfast with our own organic products, barbecue in the inner courtyard or drinking a glass of wine with the neighbours underneath the farm lime tree - you can do all this with us on our mountain farm.
Our desire is to preserve old cultural heritage with the local mountain farm and at the same time to create something new. In addition, we would like to run a biological agriculture based on
Our farm is an old, listed Rottaler Vierseithof, which is about 300 years old. The farmstead itself probably dates back to Roman times and was acquired by me in 2004. In the following years I renovated first the house, then the troad box and the barn using old, natural building materials such as clay plaster and old wood. An outside shell tempering and box window as well as a tiled stove create a pleasant living climate. My aim was to preserve the existing building as much as possible and still create a house that was adapted to the present day. Troadkasten and barn with old ornamental beams as well as the farm garden in front of the house now form a harmonious unit, which blends beautifully into the Rottaler landscape. The house is heated by a wood chip heating system, which I exclusively heat with Miscanthus, which is grown and harvested by myself.
Surroundings and activites
Whether hiking, cycling or golfing - enjoy the beautiful Rottal landscape, also known as Bavarian Tuscany, a gentle, hilly landscape that guarantees many hours of sunshine. Our farm is situated in the middle of nature and yet from here you can quickly reach Munich, Passau or Salzburg. Europe's largest golf resort and the thermal baths of Bad Grießbach, Bad Füssing and Bad Birnbach are nearby. The dreamlike solitary location with an old farm garden offers plenty of space to relax and enjoy under the canopy of leaves of our several centuries old courtyard lime tree. In the immediate vicinity you can meet wildlife such as deer and pheasants and the species-rich bird twittering is evidence of a great ecological diversity.
Location and getting around
Our farm is about half an hour's drive from the A3 motorway, but it doesn't take much time and distance to get off at Garham/Vilshofen, Aicha vorm Wald or Passau-Mitte.
The nearest railway stations are in Bad Birnbach (17 km away), Anzenkirchen (17 km away) and Pfarrkirchen (18 km away). From Pfarrkirchen there is a bus connection to Egglham.
