Die Knödl-Alm bei Bad Mitterndorf liegt mitten im Ausseerland im Steirischen Salzkammergut und bietet neben den kulinarischen Spezialitäten, auf die der Name schließen lässt, auch Futter für die Seele. Die Ferienwohnungen im Landhaus bieten ihren Gästen nämlich neben jeder Menge Platz und Komfort vor allem eines: Ruhe. Die unter nachhaltigen Gesichtspunkten gebauten Ferienwohnungen sind für bis zu drei Personen ausgelegt und eignen sich daher sowohl für Alleinreisende, Paare und Familien mit Kind. Das vielfältige Freizeitangebot des Ausseerlands macht die Region zudem auch für Aktivurlaub sehr interessant und zwar zu jeder Jahreszeit, wenngleich die Lage in erster Linie Wintersportler ansprechen dürfte. Aber auch im Sommer ist die Knödl-Alm ein gemütlicher Rückzugsort inmitten einer herrlichen Kulisse und nach einem erholsamen Tag in der schönen Natur der Steiermark kann man hier abends noch den Tag bei einem selbstgebrannten Zirbenschnaps ausklingen lassen.

Vacation on the Knödl-Alm means having the freedom to do everything and not having to do anything. In our country house we have three non-smoking holiday apartments, which are ideal for guests who would like to experience the Ausseerland in all its peculiarity. After all, thanks to its diversity, Ausseerland in the Salzkammergut has more to offer than any other holiday region. We do not define luxury with abundance, but with the simple, good things, which are already extraordinary today. Thus our guests can be pleased to feel the high living comfort immediately thanks to solid wood construction, clay plaster and wooden floors. Solid wood furniture, such as genuine Swiss stone pine beds with Waldviertel bio-mattresses, will also contribute to relaxation, as will our fully-fledged kitchen, which offers culinary highlights. Our orchards, lettuce and herb gardens provide us with high-quality basic products, which we process into must, juices, schnapps, jams or soups for further refinement.

In the new country house, 50 metres above the organic farm, three non-smoking holiday apartments of the extraordinary class with 40,50 and 90 square metres in size are available for rent. These are ideal for couples who would like to experience the Ausseerland and the nearby traditional inn in all its peculiarity, but who would also like to retreat in order to be able to process the many impressions. We attach particular importance to peace and quiet and recreation: no traffic noise or light pollution will cloudy your holiday here. The two larger apartments are designed for two to three persons, the smaller apartment offers space for a maximum of two persons - this means that there are a maximum of eight guests at the same time in the entire house.

(Winter) hiking directly from the house is one of the most relaxing ways to explore the beautiful Ausseerland. But crystal-clear mountain lakes, two thermal baths, two ski areas, dream slopes and countless culinary experiences can also be reached quickly and conveniently around the Knödl-Alm. Between the two skiing mountains Tauplitz and Loser there is also an ideal area for snowshoeing. The best place to start is Knoppenberg, directly at the Knödl-Alm. Shortly after the start in the direction of Kamplgebiet you will be rewarded with a fantastic view of the surrounding mountains. Untouched nature has an effect on the mind, while movement in the snow activates the whole body. Whether for a short round trip to the farmhouse stop or a high alpine hike to one of the mountain peaks - this area offers the right tour for everyone and everything. You are welcome to rent sledges, snowshoes and poles from us. On request we can also organise a hiking guide for you.

The Knödl-Alm lies in the heart of the Styrian Salzkammergut, between the centre of Bad Mitterndorf and Bad Aussee. You can reach us by car via Salzkammergutstraße (B145). From the Pichl/Knoppen exit, simply follow the signs to Knödl-Alm and you will reach us in a few minutes. If you want to come to us by train, take the train to Bad Mitterndorf, Kainisch or Tauplitz. From there there is a direct connection (Tauplitz) or a short footpath to the public bus, which will take you to the Knoppen Muß stop, about 750 metres from the Knödl-Alm.
