About the accommodation
We rent out two apartments.
Both holiday apartments are located in our 250 year old, listed, largely ecologically renovated house, directly above our shop "Töpferei & Feinste Regionalwaren".
Accommodation
In our 250 year old, heritage-protected, ecologically renovated half-timbered house we sell organic food from the region, ceramics from our pottery and handicrafts from our friends' workshops, and behind the house there is a small garden café. On the upper floor there are two holiday apartments.
The small apartment is about 35 sqm small and for 2-3 persons
The large apartment is about 50 sqm in size and is suitable for 2-6 persons and a small child.
The house is located directly at the beautiful Gingster Marktplatz, central and lively, in the evening and at night it is very quiet.
Special features
The careful treatment of the old building fabric has resulted in simply furnished, beautiful accommodations.
Because a lot of things have been preserved at the house, some ceilings are low and the stairs are a bit steep. The apartments have been renovated in an ecological and historical style with clay walls, clay plaster, clay paints, pigments and wood oils.
Surroundings and activites
The small town of Gingst is the central place in the west of the island of Rügen.
Directly in the village there are among other things: doctor, pharmacy, fishing shop, bakery, bookshop, library, bus stop, Edeka supermarket with post office, garden cafes, restaurants, bicycle workshop & rental, leisure park, church with kestrel, market square, museum, bank, registry office, tourist information office, pottery, wine shop.
Activities: Surfing, fishing, cycling, horse riding, walking through parks and country houses, concerts in old churches, listening to readings of famous authors in the bookstore, watching sunsets at the Bodden and watching cranes in spring and autumn.
In the wider surroundings (35 km) are the seaside resorts on the Baltic Sea, beautiful natural sand beaches, stone beaches, cliffs, the old Hanseatic city of Stralsund, the Oceanicum, the chalk cliffs, the beech forests in the Stubnitz (World Cultural Heritage Site), the enormously varied end moraine lands.
Location and getting around
The small town of Gingst is the central place in the west of the island of Rügen. It is also not far from here to the water, because one of the foothills of the Bodden with its reed beds extends to the edge of the village (National Park Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft). The closest beaches at the open sea are about 30 km away and in the apartment you will find a map with tour suggestions and our recommendations. There is no visitor's tax in Gingst.
