Our camping park Waldwiesen is a natural, park-like, ecologically managed, nature camping site in unspoilt nature, which is situated in the middle of the Hunsrück-Hochwald Nature Park and thanks to its proximity to the Edelsteinstraße, the mineral search is possible practically everywhere, which offers an ideal activity for guests of all ages. It is a special concern of ours to run our campsite in an ecological way. You can see this practically everywhere, because we have made it our task to implement ecology in such a way that our guests can make an experience with what we do, which should inspire them to imitate. In this way, our campsite was designed in such a way as to minimise the impact on the environment. In this way, we offer natural inhabitants such as birds, fish, frogs or lizards enough space to live, so that they are largely unrestricted in their natural environment.

Apart from the classic camping, our campsite offers you various possibilities to spend your holiday. You have the choice between our Sweden house, a cosy holiday home for up to eight persons, our apartment for up to four persons, three small wooden cottages called Camping Pod for two adults with child and caravans for up to five persons. We attach great importance to the ecological operation of our campsite: for example, water heating is carried out using solar energy (solar thermal energy), we pursue a 100% waste separation process and electricity is generated by photovoltaics. We also use special fittings to save water in the sanitary area. A large wooden play area provides fun and entertainment for children and an ecologically designed natural clay swimming pond provides the necessary cooling.

Birkenfeld is a small district town on the edge of southern Hunsrück. On our grounds there is a swimming pond of about 2,000 sqm available for swimming and for those who like to hike on holiday, the region around our campsite is a real paradise: For example, the Nahe-Höhenweg and the Saar-Hunsrück Climb are close by. Within a radius of 30 kilometres there are also 15 shorter circular hiking trails, the so-called dream loops. For cycling enthusiasts, the Nahe cycle path, which runs right next to the campsite, offers plenty of opportunities for sporting activities. In addition to various other sports activities (riding, golf, high ropes courses, windsurfing, summer tobogganing) there are also many museums and mines in the vicinity, which provide a varied holiday. Our campsite is conveniently located close to the federal highway B41, the A62 motorway is only seven kilometres away. If you are arriving by car, leave the A62 at the Birkenfeld junction and follow the B41 in the direction of Birkenfeld until you reach the Birkenfeld-Ost exit. At the first crossroads turn right and pass the shopping mall. From there follow the signs to the campsite. The nearest train station is in Neubrücke, about seven and a half kilometres away. From there there is a bus connection to the camping site (next stop: Birkenfeld, Prof. Baldes Straße) as well as from the train station Idar-Oberstein. The bus stop is a short distance from the campsite.
