About the accommodation
In the untouched hinterland of Orvieto, our old farmhouse is situated on the hills below Monte Peglia, surrounded by 15,000 square metres of land. Here everyone who loves tranquillity has the opportunity to put up their tent and immerse themselves in the original life of the countryside.
With us you can enjoy the simple and simple life in the countryside - without any swimming pool, entertainment, restaurant or other accompanying tourist attractions. In our opinion, this conscious renunciation is a balm for the soul. We have been living here for over fifteen years now in the midst of olive trees, vines and a large vegetable garden. We share the land with a few chickens, cats and above all a lot of fruit trees. The view over the hills from here is simply wonderful and offers a breathtakingly beautiful view, especially at sunset. In spite of the limitation to the essentials, you do not have to forego some things with us, of course.
Accommodation
In our restored Umbrian farmhouse we rent a large, bright room with three beds, a bathroom with bathtub and a separate entrance. For breakfast we will spoil you with homemade organic bread, our organic jams and of course a delicious cappuccino or coffee as well as an egg from our happy chickens. Our old farmhouse is situated in the middle of nature in the hills around Orvieto, but not far from any civilization. For example, the nearest train station is just seven kilometres away. Our guests can relax on our land between olive trees, vegetable garden and cosy corners. Our ecological B&B is ideal for unconventional people who want to be away from the hustle and bustle of nature.
Surroundings and activites
Orvieto, one of the most beautiful and interesting towns in Umbria, is just twelve kilometres from our B&B. The splendid cathedral and the ancient Etruscan tombs are among the highlights of the city, which you should have seen during a visit here. But you shouldn't miss the happy hour on the Corso, where you can sit down in cosy bars and watch the lively bustle of the people while you are served an aperitif and the typical Umbrian bruschetta. From our B&B you can also make wonderful walks to the neighbouring farms, where you can taste fresh pecorino or take walks along the wildly romantic gorges with crystal-clear streams and waterfalls. From time to time, you can also find rock crystals or porcupine needles or encounter a wild boar, eat wild blackberries, find rare orchids and collect porcini mushrooms in autumn.
Location and getting around
Despite the remote location of our campsite, which can only be reached via a two and a half kilometer long sand road, you can reach us comfortably by car. The Orvieto motorway exit (Autobahn A1) is only ten kilometres and about the same number of minutes away.
The nearest train station is also in Orvieto.
