About the accommodation
Our spacious courtyard is surrounded by meadows and forests, just ten to fifteen minutes' drive from Lake Constance. From the apartment's own terrace our guests have a view of our chickens and goats, which also like to be petted by the little holidaymakers. Children can romp around freely on the farm grounds, play football on the meadow or take part in stable work, such as feeding or collecting eggs. We also like to take them on our tractor while we drive over the fields. In our Demeter organic farm shop our guests can buy our own vegetables and fresh milk from our dairy cows. But the sunny Lake Constance district is not only suitable for summer holidays: In winter there are also plenty of sunny days, inviting you to beautiful walks or sledding.
The light-flooded holiday apartment is divided into two floors. On the lower floor is the very spacious living room kitchen with dishwasher, as well as the bathroom with a bathtub. The three cosy double bedrooms with sloping roofs are located on the upper floor. An additional cot is provided free of charge for our guests. The wooden furniture creates a cosy and warm farmhouse atmosphere. At colder seasons, the apartment is heated by a central wood-fired heating system. In order to offer our guests the possibility of deceleration, there is no television and only sporadically working WLAN in our apartment. Our farm is the perfect place to relax and spend precious time with your loved ones.
Surroundings and activites
Around the Helchenhof there are various excursion destinations, such as the border town of Constance or the natural Switzerland. The Hegau volcanoes and the Rhine Falls are real natural wonders and can be reached in 30 minutes by car. On the other side of Lake Constance, our guests can visit the lake dwellings, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site, relax in one of the countless beach resorts and then refresh themselves in Lake Constance, which attracts visitors with its excellent water quality. A popular excursion destination is the flower island of Mainau, which invites you to extensive walks to the second largest butterfly house in Germany. If you have always wanted to feed a monkey by hand, you can do so at the Affenberg Salem. In addition to the sights, there is also the possibility to rent stand-up paddleboards and bicycles in Überlingen or to take a boat trip over Lake Constance. In addition, there are countless restaurants that invite you to stay.
