Stay in one of our nine schist houses, made of local shale and lovingly restored, keeping both tradition and modern comfort in mind. These are unique spaces, enhanced by exclusive works of art created by local and international artists.

Accommodation

This remote village in the mountain of Lousã was rebuilt using traditional methods and materials. We share this beautiful scenery with our neighbors and friends. Artists visit us often, as they find Cerdeira to be an inspiring place where art meets nature.

Surroundings and activites

Follow the deer during the rut. Take a bicycle ride to the neighboring villages. Dive into swimming pools and natural dams. Canoeing on Mondego river, aquatic hiking on Ceira river, and canyoning in Ribeira da Pena. Walk, photograph, and observe. Take part in one of our creative courses and enjoy the experience. Try our traditional Portuguese Cuisine Workshop or work the potter's wheel to produce small bowls. Get to know the surrounding area. There's a lot to see and enjoy in and around the village.

Location and getting around

Our village is 15min away from town. To reach us by public transportation, take the train or bus to Coimbra. In Coimbra, at the Coimbra-A train station, take the “Metro Mondego” bus headed towards Lousã. In Lousã, take a taxi to the village about 9 km away. The ride should cost you about 15€ and can be booked by calling +351 917 866 975. We can send you more information on how to get to Cerdeira if you bring a car. Parking is free.

We are proud owners of the Eco-label certification. We charge a 30 EUR deposit fee that will be refunded as long as garbage, compost, and recycling have been collected and placed in their respective boxes, the house has not been damaged, and the dishes are washed. All the houses have wi-fi available. Pets are allowed at an additional cost in Casa do Forno, Casa da Janela, Casa da Escada, Casa do Sol, Casa das Estórias, and Casa do Vale. All other houses are pet-free. All houses are smoking-free. Registration numbers 5162/TER, 7404/AL, 7381/AL, 5160/TER, 5161/TER, and 60484/AL.
