The often absolute silence invites relaxation of the soul and spirit. The nearby Mecklenburg Lake District is the largest contiguous lake district in Germany and those who go on a voyage of discovery will find many time-honoured towns and villages, such as the "Ackerbürgerstadt" Röbel/Müritz. Not far from the accommodation there is also the Müritz National Park. Wide forests, clear lakes and fascinating moors invite you to switch off in the midst of nature and recharge your batteries.
Accommodation
The large park-like garden with a small pond and various garden areas is available for all guests. Lying by the pond in the sun, reading a book, drinking a good wine or a real cappuccino and enjoying the silence - all this is comfortably possible in the Alte Ziegelei. But also in other respects, our lodging offers unique experiences that will ensure an unforgettable stay: thousands of wild geese and cranes move directly over the old brickworks in autumn.
To explore the region by bike, guests can use two bicycles free of charge. Pictures can be viewed and purchased in the Alte Ziegelei gallery. If you wish, the refrigerator is filled with a shopping cart for the first days of your stay. Many fine wines of wine, beer, water or home-made apple juice are available for you in our small shop at any time of the day or night.
Surroundings and activites
We offer you many excursions to castles, churches, manor houses, beautiful villages and lakes to explore the region. We also provide tips and suggestions for restaurants, concerts and events.
Experience the poetry of the Mecklenburg Lake District. If you want a healthy mix of relaxation and sporting activities, you can do this while riding, cycling, hiking, fishing, golf, swimming, paddling, sailing and many other recreational activities in the surrounding area. There are bathing facilities in the many clean lakes of the Müritz and in the nearby Waldsee with its clear water, a beach and a large sunbathing lawn.
The region also has well-developed cycle paths and wonderful hiking trails through the Mönchsee nature reserve.
The city of Röbel is about ten minutes by car from the Old Brickworks. Röbel is a paradise for water sports enthusiasts, offering good shopping and gastronomy, especially for fish specialities.
Location and getting around
With the car:
The A 24 from Berlin or Hamburg is about 10 kilometres away, the journey time from the Röbel/Müritz exit to the Alte Ziegelei is about ten minutes. The distance to the city of Waren is about 20 kilometers. Neustrelitz and Güstrow are about 50 kilometres away, Rostock and the Baltic Sea are about 80 kilometres away.
With the train:
The nearest train station is Waren/Müritz - from there there is a bus line to Röbel, from where we will be happy to pick you up free of charge. If you would like us to pick you up and return goods from the station, we charge a flat-rate transportation fee of 60 euros.
