About the accommodation
Welcome to the nature house in the nature park Ammergauer Alpen!
Our nature house keeps what the name promises: when building from untreated wood, glue and other preservatives were completely dispensed with and the solid, winter-lagged wooden floors are oiled - in this way, an unmistakably cosy feeling of living is created. In addition to natural wood, other natural materials such as natural stone and clay are also used. Naturhaus also means for us: to practise not using electronic devices, especially entertainment electronics such as televisions or computers. We therefore kindly ask you to use mobile phones in the house either not at all or only to a very limited extent. Part of our philosophy is that the electrical cables have been shielded to reduce radiation and electrosmog as much as possible. An almost dust-free climate was achieved by installing the heating in the walls or in the floor.
Accommodation
Our nature house offers you two holiday apartments, both of which have been certified by the DTV with four stars. Since our house is a smoke and animal-free environment, the apartments are particularly suitable for allergy sufferers. The installation of the heating in walls and floors as well as the use of a water vacuum cleaner makes house dust practically no problem. The vacuum cleaners in the rooms have a special HEPA filter. The water vacuum cleaner also ensures that mites have no habitat. For laundry and cleaning we use exclusively biological products without fragrances. In addition, our house offers a Zinipi, a sauna-like warming room with interior walls of stone pine. The natural stone heating provides with infrared warmth for a heat of maximum 50 degrees. If you travel by car, we will be happy to provide you with a carport space per room.
Surroundings and activites
The nature house is situated on the outskirts of Oberammergau, with a wonderful view of the mountains. The Ammergau Alps Nature Park is located on the doorstep and offers plenty of space to recharge your batteries in the midst of nature. Depending on the season, we will be happy to take you for a walk or a hike through our beautiful mountain landscapes and show you the treasures of our nature. Oberammergau is primarily known for its passion plays which take place every ten years, but the town also has a lot to offer with its fan paintings and artistic wood carvings, which is worth discovering. The area around Oberammergau is also ideal for active holidays: the Active Arena offers a summer toboggan run, a climbing garden as well as a bike park and there is plenty of space for extensive hikes or bicycle tours. In winter, the ski areas of the Ammergau Alps are also attractive.
Location and getting around
Oberammergau can be easily reached by car or train:
If you are travelling by car, it is best to use the A95 motorway and the federal highway 2, to which the motorway merges seamlessly. In Oberau turn onto the federal road B23 in the direction of Oberammergau - from here it is eleven kilometres to the Naturhaus.
Oberammergau also has a railway station: the Ammergaubahn runs hourly between Oberammergau and Murnau, from where there is a connection to Munich. The train station is just over a kilometre from the Naturhaus.
