About the accommodation
Naturfarm Fischer has set itself the goal of building a self-sufficient life in 2016. When selecting the location, care was taken to ensure that no negative external environmental conditions prevail, that sufficient solar and wind energy is available and that a separate water source is available. Such conditions can only be found on the smaller islands in the south, where there is no industry. One of these islands is Rhodes, where we have found all these conditions. In order to make sure that these conditions will not change so quickly, we have decided on a plot of land in a biotope reserve. The location in the biotope has another positive side effect for you: mass tourism is prohibited here, so that we can guarantee each guest 50 square metres of beach area at a distance of about 300 metres from the farm. Unfortunately, the sea itself is not visible from our farm due to the high tree population, which consists mainly of fruit trees.
Our nature farm is located in the middle of a biotope, idyllically situated between olive groves, fig trees and small agriculture on the feeder road. There are many hiking trails through the biotope, along the beach, high on the mountain or under the olive trees. Since the figs are not harvested by anyone, healthy and tasty food is always available from August to November.
In painstaking detail work we have created a nature farm with three arable land and a grazing area for our animals. In the meantime, more than one hundred animals have found their new home here, such as chickens, sheep and rabbits. In the midst of all this idyll you can enjoy your holiday in our spacious caravan and enjoy the delicious, healthy and organically produced food directly from our farm.
Surroundings and activites
There are many hiking trails through the biotope and just 300 metres away you can reach the nearest beach, Traganou Beach. There you will also find a small tavern, which is the only restaurant in the area. Around 150 deckchairs are available here, but there is also plenty of space for you to set up your own berth. After another 300 metres you can reach a system of caves with more space for secluded moorings. On the other side of the biotope, Ladiko Beach and Anthony Quinn Beach, the most beautiful bay in the region, where the Greek film Zorbas was filmed, are two beautiful sandy beaches. The town of Faliraki, which is marked by tourism, is about three kilometres away and offers a wide range of (water) sports facilities in addition to shopping and leisure activities. The island's capital Rhodes with its historic old town is about 15 kilometres away.
Location and getting around
Rhodes can be reached by boat or plane. From the airport (19 kilometres away) you can either come to us by taxi or by bus. By bus you have to change trains in Rhodes, the island's capital, and then either head for Lindos or Traganou Beach. The nearest bus stop is 400 metres from the farm.
From the port, 17 kilometres away, you can reach us by turning left at the port onto the public road and following it until you see a signpost to Lindos. Follow this road for about 16 kilometres and then turn into Traganou Beach. Alternatively, you can also take the bus from the harbour to reach us.
