About the accommodation
Historical rooms protected by centuries-old walls, lounges to escape the sun or to warm yourself by the fire, rooms to exhibit, mould or share, a garden, sculptures, a swimming pool, olive trees, bamboo... Fontaine renArt is an invitation to relax, to meditate, to discover, it is a place to escape from everyday stress, to slow down, to practice the art of slumbering under olive trees, to spend a romantic night, to write a novel, to meditate by the pool or to be surprised by local delicacies.
Accommodation
The fontaine renArt rooms combine the old and the contemporary in a spacious way. Some of them are two-storeyed and others can be expanded into small apartments by adding additional rooms. All are equipped with 180x200 cm beds, coffee machine, refrigerator and internet access. Each room has a sitting area, a bathroom with Italian floor-level shower and a separate toilet. Some also have a bathtub or can be supplemented with an extra bed.
Surroundings and activites
The village of St. Quentin-la-Poterie has been known for centuries for its pottery and today has more than 20 workshops for ceramic artists and other crafts: iron and furniture carpentry, bookbinding, stained glass and jewellery. On Tuesdays and Fridays, several farmers' markets are held in the region in the mornings. These are always worth a visit and offer many local specialities. Pay a visit to the Pont de Gard. The three-storey bridge was built in Roman times to transport water and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The region also offers the possibility of hiking, cycling (own bike rental at the house), paragliding, climbing and much more. Art and culture events are also held regularly.
Location and getting around
Easy access by car TGV - railway stations of Avignon and Nîmes. Surroundings: The wine shop "La mère Minard" offers organic and natural wines from the region, Valentin Valles, Serge Scherrer-Agarus. Discover regional delicacies in some of the best restaurants in the area: Le bar du marché, Le restaurant du boucher, La Terre Inn', Le restaurant des pottiers. In Saint Quentin la Poterie you will find a grocery store with local organic products and a bakery. Within an hour you can reach the historic cities of Nîmes, Avignon, Arles and even the long sandy beaches and fishing ports of the Mediterranean Sea.
