About the accommodation
We cultivate our farm according to ecological principles out of our close relationship with nature and the conviction that we are responsible for our natural resources such as soil, air and water. Sustainable and species-appropriate agriculture in harmony with nature is the basis of our existence. The number of animals depends on the farm's own area - so we can always feed our animals with what grows in our area.
We know our cows very well: Our herd consists of 20 cows and one bull - there is the lively and dominant leading cow, a quiet and comfortable old lady and also the still reserved, a little insecure young cow. In addition, there are our babies, the calves and the young cattle, who like to strike over the strings. Our cows eat what grows on our farm: the fresh, herbaceous grass on the pasture and they also spend the whole snow-free time of the year there. In areas that do not graze the cows, the grass for fodder grows in winter.
Accommodation
We have furnished our two apartments with much love for detail. You should be your home for some nice and relaxing holidays. For the renovation of our 200 year old farmhouse we have used timber from our own forest and other natural building materials. The building envelope is clad with cellulose insulation material, which ensures an optimal room climate in summer and winter and enables energy-saving heating.
Most of our apartments are equipped with natural wood floors and the walls are covered with mineral plaster and paint. For cleaning and laundry we primarily use ecological cleaning agents, cleaning agents and detergents. Bed linen, dishtowels and towels are available upon arrival. We will be happy to provide equipment for toddlers on request. Fresh delicacies from our organic farm such as milk, eggs and honey can be purchased directly from us.
Surroundings and activites
The nearby Eistobel nature reserve invites you to hike and on hot summer days it offers cool silence and roaring water. Beautiful hiking trails lead for example to the ruins of Alttrauchburg, which once belonged to the most powerful castle complexes in the Allgäu. During a guided tour in one of the many alpine dairies you can experience how cheese is made, but also the nature experience centre in the Alpseehaus or the mountain farm museum Diepolz offer a lot of space for children and adults to experience and discover. Germany's longest year-round toboggan run and Bavaria's largest high ropes course are also not far from us. Wangen or Isny, a health resort town, also tempt you to stroll around the small town or visit a weekly market. We will be happy to make further suggestions on site and provide an extensive range of travel guides and maps. We are sure there is something for everyone.
Location and getting around
Our farm is very easy to reach by car, as it is not far from the federal highway B12, which leads to the A96 and A8 motorways. The motorway junction Allgäu is only 26 kilometres away, the A96, for example, can be reached in less than 30 kilometres at the Kißlegg or Wangen-West exits or in 34 kilometres at the Weißensberg junction.
Railway stations are located for example in Röthenbach and Oberstaufen (each 15 km away), Immenstadt (17 km away) as well as in Wangen or Kempten (each 25 km away).
