The land exhibits the art and functionality of permaculture, with beautiful gardens amongst a small working farm. Just 6km from the Alentejo and Vincentine coast, you can explore the array of wild and wonderful beaches close by, surf the waves of this renowned coastline or kayak up the Mira and Odeceixe rivers. Experience the exquisite portuguese cuisine and soak up the atmosphere in the nearby towns of Zambujeira, Odeceixe and Sao Teotonio. Nestled in a valley covered with woodlands and fruit trees, Aterra offers a luxury camping experience with natural wildlife surroundings. There is a freshwater lake, barbecue facilities and free Wi-Fi. Each individually decorated tent and tipi at Aterra features a small private sun deck with chairs and a large living area with a hand wash basin. There are shared outdoor bathroom facilities with a shower. A buffet breakfast is served daily either in-room or in the dining room where guests can enjoy dishes made from local produce. There are several restaurants and bars serving Portuguese aspires to bring visitors back down to earth, allowing them to step away from the world of technology, materialism, and reliance on others.
